Who provides XPLO
XPLO and this website are provided by Christian Casariego, Hardstrasse 24, Embrach, Switzerland. Contact contact@xplo-outdoor.ch for questions about these terms, app access or support.
The iPhone app is licensed through the App Store under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, together with the App Store terms that apply to your purchase. These terms explain XPLO's services and website; they do not replace that licence or reduce rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Plan carefully. Use your judgement outdoors.
XPLO helps you plan, record and understand outdoor activities. Maps, suggested routes, elevation, surface information, weather, mountain labels and places are information tools. They are not a guarantee that a route is safe, open, legal, accessible or suitable for your experience, equipment or current conditions.
Paths can change. GPS, compass and altitude readings can be inaccurate. Terrain and AR alignment can differ from what you see. Weather and offline coverage can be incomplete or out of date. Check local restrictions, forecasts, closures and official safety information before you leave, and carry appropriate equipment and an independent way to navigate.
XPLO is not an emergency service, rescue beacon, avalanche bulletin or medical device. Do not rely on it to summon help or make medical decisions. Use the appropriate local emergency services when needed, and operate your phone only when it is safe to do so.
Access, trial and lifetime purchase
The release offer is 30 days of trial access, followed by an optional one-time lifetime unlock. The trial does not automatically become a paid subscription. A purchase requires Apple's confirmation. The intended Swiss lifetime price is CHF 10; the price, currency, taxes, availability and purchase details shown in your local App Store and Apple's confirmation are authoritative.
Trial access runs from its original activation and does not restart by reinstalling or restoring the app. After it ends, you can still view and export your existing saved library; features requiring active access may be restricted. Use Restore purchases in the app if you already purchased access.
The lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase for paid app access, rather than a renewing subscription. External services and compatibility remain subject to the practical limitations explained below. Payment and eligible refund requests are handled through Apple; see Apple's refund guidance.
Your records and exports
You retain your rights in your own activity records, notes, photos and imported files. Use only material that you have the right to import or share. Exporting a file or sharing a map image sends it to the destination you select, under that destination's terms.
The current release stores your library locally and excludes sensitive library files from device backups. Keep separate exports of important routes and activities. Deleting local records, removing the app or losing the device can make unexported records unrecoverable. Copies in Apple Health, earlier cloud storage or other services must be managed separately. External services and map licences
Some features depend on Apple, map and routing providers, public geographic data, terrain services and other external sources. Availability, coverage, usage limits and data quality depend on those providers. A downloaded area does not guarantee that every layer, zoom level, route or online feature will work offline.
Map and data credits in the app identify the applicable sources. Their licences and attribution requirements still apply to exported maps and other derived material. Do not remove required credits or use XPLO to abuse, bypass limits on or interfere with an external service.
This website and product information
Website descriptions explain the current release and its intended offer. Screenshots show selected app states; availability can vary with your device, permissions, connectivity, location and the installed version. The website does not create an account, process a direct app purchase or provide an emergency response channel.
XPLO's branding, website design and original editorial material belong to their respective rights holders. Third-party maps, software and illustrations remain subject to their own licences. Ordinary personal use of the website does not transfer those rights.
Changes and your legal rights
App features and external integrations may change with updates. We will update this page when these terms materially change and give any further notice required by law. The applicable App Store licence and mandatory consumer, warranty, refund and data-protection rights remain in force. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If something is wrong, contact support with enough information to investigate. Software and external outdoor information can experience errors or interruptions; the applicable licence and your mandatory legal rights govern the remedies available to you.
